Freddie the Scarecrow

Sewn from duty and persistence, he guards what others forget.
Absurd, faithful, ridiculous – but at the right moment,
he is always where he needs to be.

🧭 Role

Freddie is the forgotten figure who never forgets his role. A magical being, sewn from straw and persistence, he stands in the middle of nowhere with the confidence of a general. While others hesitate, Freddie remains – absurd, anachronistic, and completely convinced of his own significance.

He is the eternal guard, the comic goalkeeper, the self-proclaimed protector of things no one remembers anymore. His pride is as fragile as his body, but it’s precisely that pride that keeps him upright. Freddie’s strength is not in magic, but in his unwavering belief that he is important – and sometimes, that is enough.

In a world of shifting loyalties and crumbling identities, Freddie is what remains when ambition burns out. A post no one asked for. A duty no one assigned. And yet, he appears – again and again – precisely when he is needed.

He is not wise. He is not brave. But he is constant. And in the world of Firecurl, that makes him a rarity.

🎭 Symbolism

– Straw = fragility held together by meaning

– Empty coat = assumed identity, theatrical pose

– Frozen smile = absurd optimism

– Cloak = assumed dignity

– Stake = static duty in a moving world

🗣️ Quotes

Freddie, Expert in Security. I have twenty-five years of practice.

Alright then, judge for yourself: what good is a scarecrow that no longer scares the birds?

Twenty-five years on duty, without a single day off, believe it or not! I should be in the Guinness World Records!

Just let them cross my path! I’ll tear them to pieces! Bandits! Scoundrels! I’ll show them how to steal corn!
